Easy Milk Cake Recipe

Ingredients

  • 3 eggs
  • ¾ cup (150 g) sugar
  • 1 cup (240 ml) milk
  • 1 ½ cups (190 g) wheat flour (you can use all-purpose if you prefer)
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ cup (120 ml) oil or melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional but adds nice flavor)
  • A pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven
    • Set your oven to 350°F (180°C).
    • Grease a round or rectangular cake pan with a bit of butter or oil, and dust it lightly with flour.
  2. Mix wet ingredients
    • In a large bowl, beat the eggs and sugar together using a whisk or hand mixer until pale and slightly fluffy (about 2–3 minutes).
    • Add the milk, oil (or melted butter), and vanilla, and mix until combined.
  3. Add dry ingredients
    • In a separate bowl, sift together the wheat flour, baking powder, and salt.
    • Gradually add this dry mixture to the wet mixture, stirring gently until smooth and lump-free.
  4. Bake
    • Pour the batter into your prepared pan.
    • Bake for 30–35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
    • Let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
  5. Optional finishing touch
    • Warm a little milk mixed with sugar or condensed milk, and brush it over the warm cake for extra softness and a milky glaze. 😋

💡

Tips

  • Add 1–2 tablespoons of milk powder for a richer flavor.
  • Sprinkle a little powdered sugar or grated coconut on top before serving.
  • Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days at room temp.

Would you like me to give you a “Milky Syrup” version (where you pour sweet milk over the cake, like tres leches style)? It’s super moist and delicious.
